{NOW IT IS TIME, NOT ONLY TO PROPAGATE PERIYAR'S PRINCIPLES, BUT MUCH MORE TO COUNTER THE MALEVOLENT PROPAGANDA AGAINST HIM}

Amidst the most encouraging news items of collecting more than 50,000 subscriptions for ‘Viduthalai’, and the world record of fifty year editorship of Viduthalai by its editor Dr.K.Veeramani, there came a historically momentous announcement from him that soon Periyar Research Academy is to be started. There are many research organisations already functioning with regard to Periyar’s movements. But this academy will function with a specif objective. Time and again we have come across Periyar more wronged than any other leader in India. The enemies of this Social Justice Movement have been most clandestinely scheming and letting loose false propaganda about Periyar. For example: He was anti-national; he did not do anything worthwhile in Vaikom; he spreads caste prejudice and so on. This has been going on quite for some time in many parts of the world which have blocked many an opening for the spread of Periyar’s most cherished ideals. It is therefore felt as a very urgent need to take appropriate and strong measures to counter them through powerful propaganda in the form of writings and articles in as many languages as possible. To start with these attempts should be made available in English, French and Spanish.

We have already made successful entry into Beijing and Taiwan. All the talents of our progressive thinkers will be consolidated in this endeavour. A detailed action plan to this massive movement will be announced later.
