The Trichy World Atheist Conference points out that the ideals of
Periyar E.V.Ramasamy
are spreading fastly

Dr. K.Veeramani, President, Dravidar Kazhagam issued the following statement on 23-12-2010 requesting the members of the movement and other public to attend in large number the Trichy World Atheist Conference 2011:
December 24th is the memorial day of our intellectual teacher, leader, philosopher and guide Periyar E.V.Ramasamy, whose tour programme was ended 37 years before with his demise.
The World Atheist Conference proposed to be held at Trichy on 7th, 8th and 9th January, 2011 proves strongly the fact that the ideals of Periyar are very fast becoming internationalised, propagated and expanded, defeating the mischievous calculations of the arrogant opponents of our race that the movement founded by Periyar E.V.R. and his principles would vanish and whither away with his demise.
Dravidar Kazhagam, joining with the Gora Atheist Centre of Andhra Pradesh, is conducting this World Atheist Conference, inviting representatives from all over the world. The humanist atheism alone can eliminate the evils and social degradations prevailing in our present day society and reform the world as a new one. The future mostly depends on the Humanist and Rationalistic ethics only.
The present generation has started to understand that the superstitious beliefs like the outdated concept of god, religion and caste only divided people and spoiled the society, but have not improved the conditions of the people or shaped them into complete integrated human beings.
The Self-respect rays of the rationalist Sun Periyar E.V.R. are removing the darkness, making the people keep up their self-respect.
In Tamil Nadu, which can be considered as the capital of the world atheist movement, the movement blossomed as a people’s movement transforming lakhs and lakhs of people and made them lead a life of self-respect.
The people who were treated like worms have started to understand that they are human beings and not worms due to the awareness created by our social movement.
Religions have not developed morality, ethics and character among mankind, but responsible for terrorism, bloodshed, mass killing and looting of public and private properties.
Atheism is only an ethical and peaceful way of protecting the people from drowning in the dangerous whirl pool of imaginary concept of god, spirit, and other superstitions. Many of the countries of the world are fast maturing by accepting these ideals.
The World Atheist Conference is being convened at Trichy to find ways and means to develop the spirit of compassion, humanism, love and affection among the people and make them as constructive thinkers and purposeful activists. Atheism as our alternate culture is the theme of the conference.
Representatives from the USA, Canada and other European countries like U.K., France, Switzerland, Norway, Italy and East Asian countries like Singapore and Malaysia, from Tamil Nadu and all other states of India are going to participate in the conference.
The forenoon session of the Conference on 7th January, 2011 will be held at the Periyar Maniyammai University, Vallam, Thanjavur and the afternoon session will be held at the auditorium of the Trichy Periyar Centenary Education Complex, in which the general public can also participate. In the evening of the second day of the conference, a mammoth procession of annihilation of superstitious beliefs, will be held in which many intellectuals are going to take part.
The foreign representatives will be in a position to witness in person the achievements of the propaganda of our movement of rationalistic ethics.
